SHATTER SEA - TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Last Updated: August 10, 2026

[Have a qualified lawyer review these Terms before launch - especially the purchases, liability and governing-law sections. Replace the remaining text in SQUARE BRACKETS with your details.]

1. ABOUT THESE TERMS

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Shatter Sea website, game, accounts, downloads, online features, and other services that link to these Terms (collectively, the "Services").

The Services are operated by [LEGAL COMPANY / DEVELOPER NAME], located in Florida, United States ("Shatter Sea", "we", "us", or "our").

By accessing or using the Services, creating an account, downloading Shatter Sea, or purchasing any digital content from us, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

2. ELIGIBILITY AND MINORS

You must be legally capable of entering into a binding agreement in your country.

If you are below the age at which you can legally consent to these Terms or to the processing of your personal data, a parent or legal guardian must review and agree to these Terms where required by applicable law.

Shatter Sea contains online multiplayer combat, shooting, player-versus-player gameplay, raiding and destruction of player structures, and is not appropriate for all ages. Age ratings and parental controls may apply depending on platform and country.

3. SHATTER SEA ACCOUNTS

An account is required to play. Accounts are created in the game and the same account signs in on this website. Setting an email address on your account is optional but strongly recommended - it is the only way to recover a lost password.

You agree to:

We may require verification or additional security measures where reasonably necessary to protect accounts, players, or the Services.

4. LICENSE TO USE THE GAME AND SERVICES

Subject to these Terms and any applicable platform terms, we grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable license to access and use Shatter Sea and the Services for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes.

You do not acquire ownership of Shatter Sea, its software, game content, virtual items, characters, artwork, audio, maps, interfaces, or other intellectual property by downloading, purchasing, or using the Services.

Except where applicable law expressly permits otherwise, you may not:

5. MULTIPLAYER GAMEPLAY AND PLAYER CONDUCT

Shatter Sea is a survival game built around building, combat, shooting, raiding, resource competition, and player-versus-player interaction. LOSING ITEMS, RESOURCES, STRUCTURES, TERRITORY, OR PROGRESS TO OTHER PLAYERS IS PART OF THE INTENDED GAME EXPERIENCE. Your base can be raided, your items can be taken, and your character can be killed while you are offline. These outcomes are gameplay, not grounds for support claims or refunds.

You must not:

Competitive gameplay - raids, combat, ambushes, destruction of player-built structures and similar actions - is not misconduct merely because another player dislikes the outcome, provided those actions occur within the intended rules and mechanics of the game.

6. ANTI-CHEAT AND ENFORCEMENT

Shatter Sea's multiplayer is server-authoritative: our servers validate gameplay actions to detect cheating, exploits and fraud. We also use moderation tools and player reports.

If we reasonably determine that an account has violated these Terms, we may take proportionate action including warnings, content removal, temporary restrictions, suspension, or account termination. Bans may apply across the account, not just a single character or world.

You may contest an enforcement action by contacting [SUPPORT EMAIL]. Where required by law, we will provide information about available appeal procedures.

7. USER-GENERATED CONTENT

The Services allow players to create or submit content such as usernames, chat messages, structures, market listings, and reports ("User Content").

You retain any ownership rights you legally have in your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, display, adapt, transmit, and otherwise use that content as reasonably necessary to operate, improve, moderate, promote, and provide the Services, subject to applicable law and our Privacy Policy.

You represent that you have the necessary rights to submit your User Content and that it does not violate applicable law or the rights of others.

8. VIRTUAL ITEMS, SKINS, AND CREDITS

Shatter Sea offers credits (a virtual currency) and cosmetic skins. Skins are cosmetic: they change the appearance of characters and items and confer no gameplay advantage.

Unless applicable law requires otherwise:

Purchases made through platform storefronts are also subject to that platform's rules.

9. PURCHASES, PRICING, AND REFUNDS

Credits can be purchased on this website, with payment processed by Stripe (card payments) or PayPal on their own systems - we never see your card details. On platform versions of the game, purchases may instead be processed by the platform storefront under its terms.

Credits and skins are delivered to your account immediately after payment. By purchasing, you request immediate delivery of digital content and acknowledge that, where permitted by applicable law, you lose any right of withdrawal once delivery has begun.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory refund, cancellation, warranty, or consumer rights you have under applicable law. For billing issues, contact [SUPPORT EMAIL] - include your username and the payment reference from your receipt.

Prices, taxes, currencies, regional availability, and promotions may vary and may change.

10. THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS

Shatter Sea may be distributed through or integrated with third-party platforms such as Steam or console storefronts. Your use of those platforms is governed by separate agreements between you and the platform provider. We are not responsible for third-party services except to the extent required by applicable law.

11. UPDATES, PATCHES, AND CHANGES TO THE GAME

Shatter Sea is an evolving online game. We release updates, patches, balancing changes, new content, and technical changes. To the extent permitted by law, game mechanics, maps, weapons, items, skins, progression, servers, availability, and system requirements may change over time. You may be required to install updates to continue using online features.

12. WORLD WIPES AND PROGRESS RESETS

As is standard for survival games of this kind, game worlds are reset ("wiped") from time to time - for example when major updates change the world, for balance, or for technical reasons. A WIPE REMOVES IN-WORLD PROGRESS: STRUCTURES, ITEMS, RESOURCES AND MAP PROGRESS MAY BE PERMANENTLY RESET. Wipes are part of the intended game experience and do not entitle players to compensation or refunds.

Your account itself, purchased credits, and purchased skins survive wipes.

13. TESTS, EARLY ACCESS, AND PRE-RELEASE FEATURES

If we offer alpha, beta, playtest, early-access, or other pre-release versions, those versions may contain bugs, incomplete features, resets, performance issues, or substantial changes. Progress, items, accounts, builds, or other data from a test environment may be modified or reset at any time. Any additional terms presented for a particular test also apply.

14. SERVERS, MAINTENANCE, AND AVAILABILITY

We aim to keep the Services available, but uninterrupted operation cannot be guaranteed. The Services may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, updates, technical failures, security incidents, capacity limits, third-party outages, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue particular features or Services where reasonably necessary, subject to applicable consumer law.

15. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

Shatter Sea, including its name, logos, artwork, characters, game systems, maps, graphics, interface designs, text, audio, video, software, and other original content, is owned by or licensed to [LEGAL COMPANY / DEVELOPER NAME] and is protected by intellectual-property laws.

Third-party trademarks, platform names, and logos remain the property of their respective owners. No rights are granted except as expressly stated in these Terms.

16. FAN CONTENT AND STREAMING

You may create ordinary non-commercial fan content, gameplay videos, streams, reviews, and commentary about Shatter Sea, provided that you:

Monetizing videos or streams through standard platform programs (such as ads or channel subscriptions) is permitted. We may publish a separate creator policy that supplements this section.

17. FEEDBACK

If you voluntarily provide ideas, suggestions, bug reports, or other feedback about Shatter Sea, you allow us to use that feedback without restriction or compensation to you, to the extent permitted by law. Do not submit confidential information as feedback.

18. PRIVACY

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, and our use of cookies in our Cookie Policy - both available on this website.

19. COPYRIGHT AND INTELLECTUAL-PROPERTY COMPLAINTS

If you believe content available through the Services infringes your intellectual-property rights, contact us at: [LEGAL / COPYRIGHT EMAIL]

Your notice should identify the protected work, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and any other information required by applicable law.

20. LINKS AND EXTERNAL CONTENT

The website may contain links to third-party websites and services, including payment pages. Third-party services are controlled by their respective operators. We are not responsible for external content, policies, security, or availability except where applicable law provides otherwise.

21. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

You may stop using the Services at any time.

We may suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:

Termination does not eliminate rights or obligations that by their nature should survive termination.

22. DISCLAIMERS

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Services are provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Services will always be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every device, or free from bugs.

Nothing in these Terms excludes warranties, guarantees, or other rights that cannot legally be excluded.

23. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where doing so would be unlawful.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, [LEGAL COMPANY / DEVELOPER NAME] and its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive losses arising from your use of the Services, including loss of in-game progress, items, structures or virtual currency through gameplay, wipes, resets, or service changes.

24. INDEMNITY

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to be responsible for losses or claims arising from your unlawful misuse of the Services, your material violation of these Terms, or your infringement of another person's rights. This section does not apply where prohibited by consumer law.

25. CONSUMER RIGHTS

If you are a consumer, you may have mandatory legal rights under the laws of your country. These Terms do not restrict rights that cannot lawfully be waived or limited by contract. If any provision conflicts with mandatory consumer law applicable to you, the mandatory law will prevail to the extent of the conflict.

26. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS

We may update these Terms when reasonably necessary, including to reflect changes to the Services, law, security requirements, business practices, or platform requirements. When required, we will provide reasonable notice of material changes. The Last Updated date at the top indicates when these Terms were most recently revised.

27. GOVERNING LAW AND DISPUTES

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, United States, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer protections that apply in your country of residence.

The state and federal courts located in Florida will have jurisdiction over disputes to the extent permitted by applicable law.

[Have a lawyer review this section - arbitration, class-action waiver and dispute-resolution clauses have significant consequences and are regulated differently across jurisdictions.]

28. SEVERABILITY

If any provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.

29. NO WAIVER

If we do not immediately enforce a provision of these Terms, that does not mean we waive our right to enforce it later.

30. ENTIRE AGREEMENT

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, the Cookie Policy, and any additional terms that apply to specific features, purchases, platforms, tests, or promotions, form the agreement governing your use of the Services.
